TURKISH LESSONS start Thursday 4th December in the YM restaurant at 4.30. They will then contineue every Tuesday and Thursday. Karen knows the details.
BELLY DANCING - classes have started. They are to take place in the Sports Centre next to Netsel Marina. Lessons are one hour and cost 10TL. Contact Palanteer for details.
SKIPPERS MEETING
In YM every Friday at midday in the Library (upstairs from the Bar). All welcome (Mr Skippers and Mrs Admirals). This is the opportunity to discuss various, numerous yottie issues - batteries, solar panels, alternators, GPS, radar, navigation, software, antifouling, cruising areas, electronics, etc. etc. and any subject people care to think of.
SPECIAL PASTA NIGHT. In YM Restaurant every Wednesday they are reducing the price of the pasta meals by 35%. A third off makes some of the meals nice and cheap (should be the same sized portions we're told!). Click at top of this page for menu and prices.
CRUISERS MENU NIGHT
In YM every Friday 6.30-9.30pm - A varied menu with special prices. Some Friday's it will be followed by dancing and kareoke in the bar - listen to the Net for details. To see menus click at the top of this page. PRICES NOW REDUCED !!
HAMSI NIGHTS
Every Tuesday between 6.30 and 9pm the YM restaurant is offering a Hamsi meal for 8.5TL and also Fish+Chips for 9.5TL.
FILM NIGHTS
Films are being shown in the YM Restaurant (the annexe bit at the rear) on Thursdays and Sundays at 7.30pm.
Sundays it will be more of a family-type film, Thursdays will be for grown-ups. Listen to the Net for that days film details.
If anyone has any good or recently released DVD films to share, please come forward. Karen from Antigua Lady is co-ordinating.

LADIES COFFEE MORNING
Takes place every Friday morning at 10.30am in the restaurant at YM. All welcome for a chat and to swap useful information and learn new skills.
10 PIN BOWLING
This is held in the Sports Centre Bowling Alley every wednesday afternoon throughout the winter. Cost is 9TL for 2 games. There can be a bus organised to take people from YM pick up at 2.30, home again at 5.30 -Karen from Antigua Lady is organising and taking a list of names every week. All welcome.
QUIZ NIGHT
Every monday evenings 7.30 in the YM Canteen throughout the winter starting 12th November. Great fun - you pay a small entry fee of 1TL pp and the winner gets the money as the first prize. You don't have to be in a team before you arrive, just turn up - a good way to meet people. Teams are ususally an average of 6. Paul and Gaby from Ballena/Ganova are the contacts.
WALK AND TALK
Everyday except Sundays. Meet at the YM gate at 7.30am for an early morning walk and a chat. Slow and faster walkers all welcome.
SHOPPING
As it's the winter, it's sometimes nice to get off of the boat and go for a shop somewhere else.
MUGLA MARKET - This is a large locals market about an hr+20minutes away that happens on Thursdays. If there is a demand, karen can organise a bus- ask. (She has - see 'Not so Regular events' underneath this text).
IZMIR SHOPPING TRIP - to the Huge hardware superstore, IKEA, Large shopping Mall etc. If there is a demand Gwen from KW can organise a coach to go there for the day. Ask. (She has - see 'Not so Regular events' under this text).
VARIOUS TRIPS
Gwen from the boat "KW" organises many different trips locally and further away. eg cappodocia, pammukale, ephesus etc. etc. Call her up on channel 69 for information. She is in Netsel Marina
NETSEL LADIES COFFEE
This now takes place on Fridays at 'Annies' at 3pm. I believe Gwen from KW will know about this.
SKIPPERS MEETING - Netsel
This takes place on Tuesdays (except for the 1st tuesday of every month) at 10am in the Divas restaurant above the small Migros in Netsel Marina. All skippers (male/female YM/Netsel) are welcome.
NETSEL LADIES MORNING WALK.
Every day except Sundays. 7.45 - 8.45, meet at the toilet block by Pineapple restaurant.
NETSEL HAPPY HOUR
This happens on Tuesdays in the Pineapple Restaurant in Netsel Marina. Check with Gwen from KW for details as times can vary. All welcome.
NETSEL QUIZ NIGHT
This takes place on Thursdays at the Scorpio Bar. Quiz starts at 7.30pm, but if you pre-order Fish+Chips, that is served at 7pm - book this with Dave from 'Tento'.

Is taking place at Fawlty Towers this Christmas Day. This includes Champagne and Canapes a 6-course meal, Christmas pud, trifle, coffee, and brandy and also a bottle of wine per couple or 2 beers. ORANGE RESTAURANT
- are providing free transport to and from their restaurant in aktas. You need a minimum of 6 people. Call them on 0252 412 15 83. They are also giving 10% off the bill to Yotties and they have a house wine at 17TL.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT - ******POSTPONED******
As a result of illness of the lead singer, the concert is being postponed until January. Tickets remain valid for the January concert but if you are unable to attend in January, please contact Gwen for your refund. On the other hand, if anyone wishes to purchase tickets for the new date of January, I'll keep the short stock that I have rather than turn them in.
As soon as a new date is set, you will be advised of it.

Music on the programme:
Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 (Bach)Exsultate Jubilate, Halleluja (MozartJazzy Christmas CarolsMusical selections from "My Fair Lady," "Die Fledermaus," and "West Side Story."
Tickets are 15 TL each; transportation to and from the concert at Mares Hotel, with pick ups at Netsel and Yat marinas. Closing date for purchase of tickets (unless sold out before as is often the case with these concerts) is Monday, 22 December. Contact Gwen on KW.
FEBRUARY - ISTANBUL BOAT SHOW
This is always and excellent trip. This year the plan is for 18th to the 21st Feb 2009. (this has now been confirmed)
At the moment the plan is for a bus to be provided to take us to and from Istanbul for we which we will probably be asked to contribute (50TL per person last year -It was 50TL if you went both ways or only one way).
The transport goes to the square near the SIDE HOTEL in Sultahnamet (near the Blue Mosque), so you can either book a room there or at a hotel very nearby. (www.sidehotel.com). This is your respnsibiliy to organise.
If you email them, you MUST say you are with Yat Marine, otherwise they will say that they are full. They are keeping the whole hotel for Yat Marine people.
Prices differ depending on whether you stay in the Hotel part or the Pensyon part.
If it is the same as previous years, you normally stay in Istanbul for 3nights, sightseeing trips are organised as well as a little free time. Previously, an evening boat cruise on the Bospherous including a nice meal etc was generously paid for by Mr Bilgin.
The plan is to board the Bus at 6am on the 18th (arrive Istanbul approx 8-9pm), returning to Yat Marine on the 21st after an overnight trip back here.
NEW INFO - Please sign the list in Reception if you are going on this trip. They need to plan for coaches, meals, jackets etc.
TRIPS TO CAPADOCCIA
There are not many places left on this trip, taking place on Dec 1-5. (The closing date for booking is 28 Nov- ....opps - now full)

TRIP TO IZMIR
Again, Gwen is organising a trip to Izmir for the day on Thursday 18th December. The Bus will take you to Ikea, a large Shopping Centre which includes shops such as Marks&Spencer, Zara, Top Shop, River Island, StarBucks etc. and also to a massive hardware store (like B+Q). Bus costs 60TL per person. Contact Gwen from KW asap.

70’s / 80’s PARTY
is planned for Saturday 6th December at the GreenHouse Restaurant in Aktas (between YM and Marmaris). It’s an open buffet and BBQ with music from the local DJ. It costs 12TL per person and transport can be provided to and from YM for 2TL. Bus leaves YM at 7pm and returns about 11 – 11.30pm. If you want to stay later they van arrange this too. Contact Green Star on channel 69 to book your place.
SUNDAY ROAST
Fawlty Towers have organised one of their traditional roasts for Sunday 14th December, but this time they are providing ROAST PORK. They need bookings early if possible for this, so they can get enough pork in. Transport is usually provided, but we will update as we hear. Contact Gina for details.
PARTY AT YM RESTAURANT
Planned for Saturday 29th November - Characters from FILM or TV. With dancing and music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and DJ Paul.
Go on....dress up and have some fun........Simpsons / Del Boy / Cleopatra+MA / Cowboys / Flintstones / Bond / W of Oz / Superman / Hulk / Mary Poppins / Soldiers / Monroe / Bet Lynch / Horror / - anything goes !!!!
It is a Buffet and the cost is 20TL. Tickets will be available from the restaurant in advance. ALL WELCOME.
MUGLA
Bus trip to the Thursday market on 27th November. Everyone shares the cost of the bus and price depends on numbers. Last time it was a 40-seater bus and ended up costing 10TL per person-it looks like it will be the same price this year. Karen will have details. Sign up list in Reception, which closes on wednesday lunchtime. All welcome.
THANKSGIVING MEAL

MUGLA
A Day of Old Mugla with visits to Restored Ottoman Houses…20 November. In addition to Thursday market, see restored mosque, museum (if open), arasta (Ottoman crafts atelier)… plus transportation, guide and entry fees to sites. Fee for day trip 60 TL. SUNDAY ROAST
23rd November at Fawlty Towers, Marmaris. It's a 3-course meal including a choice of roast beef or lamb with trimmings and cruit crumble for dessert. Bus leaves about 2.30, returning around 6.30pm. For details and bookings, please contact Gina on Impulse.
PROGRESSIVE SUPPERS
This is where boats put their names into a hat and are put into groups of 6people (normally 3 couples, but singles very welcome also). Each couple then prepares either a starter, main course or dessert and each course is served on a rotation of the three different boats.
It's great fun with people scurrying all over the Marina during the evening.
It is planned for 19th November in YM and 21st November in Netsel. There are lists in the Receptions, put your name down to express interest and the organisers will contact you or call them on 69. Organisers are Jill and Paul from Cloud 9 in Netsel and Fiona and Terry on Roam 2 in YM.
BOAT JUMBLE
On Sunday 16th Nov on the YM garden patio area. 10am start, tables available 9-9.30, but put how many tables you will need on the list in Reception.
There is also a BBQ - cost 13.5TL, to start at 12.30-1pm. Pay for tickets in the Restaurant. They have also said that you should put your eating table/names on a list in Reception! All welcome. Start having a clearout !!
CURRY + RUGBY (optional)
Saturday 15th November. England v's Australia. If you fancy a nice curry and the opportunity to watch the rugby with kareoke afterwards contact Gina on 'Impulse'. She will give you details of costs, transport to and from etc.
CLASSICAL MUSIC EVENING - oops-NOW SOLD OUT !!!!!!
The Marmaris Chamber Orchestra are performing a concert of classical music on Wednesday 12th November at 8.30pm in the Grand Azure hotel in Marmaris. The cost is 15TL and a bus will be provided from both Yacht Marina and Netsel Marina to and from the event. Please contact Gwen on KW for details and to book yourself a ticket. Closing date for tickets is planned for Monday 10th November - Hurry as this is usually very popular.
HALLOWEEN PARTY
Friday 31st October in the restaurant at YM - 7.30pm. FANCY DRESS - go on, join in the fun.
There will be a buffet, a DJ and lots of dancing (knowing Yotties).
Tickets have to be booked in advance - first come, first served basis, from the Restaurant and cost 25TL.
