QUIZ NIGHT - YM
Every MONDAY evening 7.30 in the YM Canteen throughout the winter starting 2nd November. Great fun - you pay a small entry fee of 1.5TL pp and the winner gets the money as the first prize. You don't have to be in a team before you arrive, just turn up - a good way to meet people. Teams are ususally an average of 6.
If you want to eat there beforehand, it's 7TL, open from 6.30pm and the menu will be posted on this website every week (or look on the office noticeboard).
Also beer is no longer sold there, so we are told you can take your own!
REFLEXOLOGY
Shirley from Palantir is taking bookings for her popular reflexology sessions again this winter. Contact her on 69 for details.
WALK AND TALK
EVERYDAY except Sundays. Meet at the YM gate at 7.30am for an early morning walk and a chat. Slow and faster walkers all welcome.
HAMSI or FISH & CHIP NIGHT
Every TUESDAY evening in the YM Restaurant. Hamsi - 6.75TL / Fish+Chips - 8TL. (along with the normal menu as is usual). Hamsi is a big pile of little baby fried fish served with some salad.
10 PIN BOWLING
The usual winter bowling get-together is held in the Sports Centre Bowling Alley every WEDNESDAY afternoon throughout the winter. Cost is 9TL for 2 games. There can be a bus organised to take people from YM - pick up at 2.30, home again at 5.30 -Karen from Antigua Lady is organising and taking a list of names every week on channel 69. All welcome - novices and those-who-think-they-are-not novices!
ALSO - there is now a bowling league on a TUESDAY night at the same venue as above, from 8pm to 10pm. All welcome. The contact is a boat at Netsel - Yucatan.

SKIPPERS DE-STRESS FORUM
In YM every FRIDAY at 12-midday in the Library (upstairs from the Bar). All welcome (Mr Skippers and Mrs Admirals). This is the opportunity to discuss various, numerous yottie issues - batteries, solar panels, alternators, GPS, radar, navigation, software, antifouling, cruising areas, electronics, etc. etc. and any subject people care to think of. LADIES COFFEE MORNING
Takes place every FRIDAY morning at 10.30am in YM - Sometimes in the restaurant garden, sometimes in the library - it depends on the weather.. All are welcome for a chat and to swap useful information and learn new skills.
SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC
Like-minded musicians (and those who just enjoy listening) can get together at Scorpios in town every SATURDAY evening. Contact Dave on Roamer on Ch 69 to find out more. (I believe Scorpios is about the 3rd or 4th restaurant away from the small bridge going from Netsel along Marmaris waterfront).
CRAFT CLUB
10am every Sunday in the annex of the YM restaurant. Beading, jewellery, knitting, crochet, embroidery – lots of gossip with maybe some cake and coffee!! All welcome.
FILM NIGHTS
SUNDAY EVENINGS 7pm in the YM Restaurant Annex (with popcorn!) on a big screen . Listen to the morning Net on Channel 69 for that week's films. Look on IMDB.com to look up the film and find out all about it.

KAREOKE IN YM BAR
Some FRIDAYS this winter there will be kareoke. It generally starts at 9pm with sometimes TWO happy hour times. 6pm-7.30pm and 9pm-10pm. Listen to Ch69 net in the mornings or watch the notice boards near the Bar. Thanks Thomas !
SHOPPING
As it's the winter, it's sometimes nice to get off of the boat and go for a shop somewhere else.
MUGLA MARKET - This is a large locals market about an hr+20minutes away that happens on Thursdays. Look at the 'Marmaris' page to see how to get there. If there is a big demand, maybe someone can organise a bus- ask around.
IZMIR SHOPPING TRIP - to the Huge hardware superstore, IKEA, Large shopping Mall etc. If there is a demand Gwen from KW can organise a coach to go there for the day. Ask.
VARIOUS TRIPS
Gwen from the boat "KW" organises many different trips locally and further away. eg cappodocia, pammukale, ephesus etc. etc. Call her up on channel 69 for information, or listen to the Net, or keep checking these pages. She is in Netsel Marina
MAJOR TURKISH HOLIDAY
starts on 27th NOVEMBER. Banks etc. will be closed. Check the office shop times in Marinas and in town. ATM’s also tend to run out of cash, so stock up early. See the Marmaris page and link to “Turkish Public Holidays” for details of this celebration
PROGRESSIVE SUPPER
This is where boats put their names into a hat and are put into groups of 6people (normally 3 couples, but singles very welcome also). Each couple then prepares either a starter, main course or dessert and each course is served on a rotation of the three different boats.
It's great fun with people scurrying all over the Marina during the evening.
It is planned for MONDAY 30th NOVEMBER in YM. There is a list in the Reception, put your name down to express interest. Organisers are Good Golly Miss Molly - either add to the list or call them on 69 asap please.
ALSO A progressive supper in Netsel on 30th November. A great way to meet people - put your names down early! Contact Cloud 9.
TURKISH LESSONS IN YM

BOULE COMPETITION
Is to take place again on 13th DECEMBER in YM. I assume it will be at midday again and people are asked to bring some food to share and some drink. Wraith are the defending champions, so contact them for further details.
IZMIR XMAS SHOPPING AND SIGHTSEEING
17th and 18th DECEMBER - Izmir shopping & sightseeing trip. First day is shopping at 2 large international malls. Second day is sightseeing. (If preferred, the first day can be sightseeing as well but no shopping. Men may prefer this). 155TL each to include transportation, driver, hotel, dinner & breakfast. A popular trip - book your place early.

BOULE TOURNAMENT

TABLE-TOP SALE
At Dominoes on Saturday 14th November. 11.00 - 14.00
A table costs 5 tl , the proceeds go to the animal treatment and sterilisation centre in marmaris. This is for locals, ex-pats and yotties are also welcome. People can sell nearly new, or homemade things. Books and DVDs are what a lot are hoping for !!
If more than 8 want to come from YM a seperate Dolmus can be arranged to go straight there.
VISIT TO ANTALYA
Gwen is organising a trip to Antalya for 3 days, 2 nights, On November 11, 12, 13. (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). Cost is 350 TL per person.
The flexible itinerary is:
Drive to Antalya through Kas and Kalkan. Stop at Tahtali Mountain and take the cable car to the top-- over 2,000 meters high. Visit Myra and the home of St. Nicholas. In Antalya, stay at "Villa Perla" B&B in old town (Kaleici). Visit old town, the harbour and Hadrian's Gate.
Visit Aspendos, a most impressive amphitheatre and the Duden Waterfalls. Aspendos' history encompasses the Persians, Romans, Alexander the Great and the Selcuk Turks.
The last day in Antalya gives you free time in the morning to visit, shop, sightsee on your own.

BBQ & BOAT JUMBLE
- is planned for sunday 15th November in YM - Jumble starts at 10am. The BBQ starts at 1pm, will cost 12.5TL per person and tickets can be purchased from the restaurant.

Is to be held on Friday 13th November in the Library. This is for all liveaboards (Mr and Mrs Yottiie).

HOME JAMES SHOPPING TRIP
Gwen is organising a small bus trip on Friday next, 13th Nov. Kipa (large, discount), Tespo (bulk and individual purchases of almost everything) and the Import shop (pork, chutneys, English and American and other international food products).

WIFI SEMINAR
To be held onTuesday 3rd November at 3pm in the YM restaurant. The seminar is kindly held for free by Cath and Rob from Twixter and when held 2 years ago was very useful and a great success. Rob gives tips on how to get the best from your wifi antennae, which types work best, explains about boosters and gains etc etc. They aim to finish at 5pm. There is a sign-up sheet in the reception at YM so the marina has an idea of numbers.

I only updated this website for the winter on Friday night, so I guess everyone is aware of the details of the various Halloween Events taking place now!
SUNDAY TREK
Sunday 1st November - a walk has been organised to go up to the summit of the penninsular next to Yacht Marina. At the top there are fabulous views and also some castle ruins. It's approx. a 9km round-trip and should take maybe 3 - 4 hours. Meet at 9am at YM gate and bring the usual - water, camera and good shoes/boots. Contact david on Raconteur for info.
